Mini Review- Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire
Author:  Suzanne Collins
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Release Date:  September 1, 2009

From Goodreads:

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Mini Review
(has a spoiler from The Hunger Games)

I’m in awe of Suzanne Collins. I didn’t know how she could manage to make Catching Fire as good as The Hunger Games, but she did. Katniss and Peeta both made it back from the Games, and are now aware of the repercussions that may come from making President Snow, and the Capitol look weak. Catching Fire is a well thought out, and great continuation of Katniss’s story.  Absolutely love it.

Is there anybody who hasn't read this?

  4. I can't imagine if you read "The Hunger Games," that you haven't read this book too!

I was surprised that Collins revisited the Games again ... I thought it was going to be all about the revolution.

And boy ... talk about a cliffhanger ending!
